It’s officially your last chance to shop October Prime Day (technically called Prime Big Deal Days). The sale ends tonight, October 7, so there are only hours for Prime members to get discounts across categories. Some of the top newly added day two deals also happen to be at their lowest price ever.

I frequently cover shopping events like Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a reporter for NBC Selected, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. I spent weeks combing through thousands of discounts to find the best October Prime Day deals — each one I recommend below is highly rated and 20 percent off or more, as well as at its lowest price in at least three months.

I’m updating this list live throughout these final hours of Prime Big Deal Days with my editor-approved picks, so save the link and check back often to get these markdowns before the sale ends.

Premier Protein’s shakes are ideal for snacking on the go. Each one has 30 grams of protein, no added sugar and 160 calories, according to the brand, plus they’re gluten-free. They come in over a dozen creamy flavors, like chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream, cafe latte and pumpkin spice, almost all of which are currently on sale.

I’m very picky about dish soap because I don’t have a dishwasher, and out of all the options I’ve tested, Dawn Powerwash Spray is hands-down the best one. It easily removes dirt and grime from my dishes without pre-soaking, and it leaves them literally sparkling. Also, since the soap works without water, I don’t turn my faucet on until I’m ready to rinse. Beyond washing dishes, you can use Dawn’s spray on laundry stains, kitchen surfaces, appliances and grills, according to the brand. This starter kit comes with four bottles of liquid and one reusable sprayer head.

This robot vacuum suctions up dirt and debris, and it has a built-in mop that scrubs floors to leave them shiny. It’s designed with sensors that map your home to detect and avoid obstacles, and it connects to the Roomba Home app so you can select cleaning modes, create cleaning schedules, adjust suction level and more. You can also set keep-out and no-mop zones where needed, like on area rugs. The appliance comes with a charging dock, reusable microfiber mopping pad and edge sweeping brush.

I’ve beat up my Samsonite luggage while traveling over the years, but it still works perfectly, looks great and, perhaps most importantly, fits all my stuff. You get a matching expandable carry-on and checked bag with this set, both of which are lightweight and made with hard, protective exteriors. The suitcases have spacious interiors with elastic straps, a divider and a pouch for organization, plus they’re designed with smoothly gliding wheels, a built-in ID tag, a height-adjustable handle and a TSA-approved lock.

Never worry about a dead phone or earbuds again with Anker’s Nano Power Bank, which has a built-in folding USB-C connector, eliminating the need for a cable. It fits in the palm of your hand and weighs 3.5 ounces, so you can put it in any bag or even your pocket. The Nano comes with a charging cable when you need to refill its battery, or you can connect it directly to a block.

The most boring essentials on your shopping list are often the best deals to take advantage of during Prime Big Deal Days — you’ll need to restock eventually, so you might as well do it when items are discounted. Cascade’s dishwasher pods are a perfect example. They come in a pack of 62, and with the discount applied, you’re only paying about 0.28 per pod. Each one has soap inside that gets rid of grease and food residue, and it cleans your dishwasher’s filter, too.

Once you connect devices like lamps, fans and small kitchen appliances to the Amazon Smart Plug, you can control them through an app or via voice commands. The app also lets you set timers, schedules and routines — for example, I connect my Christmas lights to this smart plug and create a schedule for them so they turn on at 10 a.m. and turn off at 10 p.m. The plug is compact to keep your second outlet free.

I rely on this corded vacuum to get rid of dirt, dust and hair on hard floors and carpets in my three-pet home. It has powerful suction, a multi-stage washable HEPA filter to trap allergens and a swivel steering system that makes it easy to navigate. My favorite part of the vacuum is the detachable pod, which I carry around my home and use the extended reach tool to clean above door frames, under furniture and on stairs. Interchangeable wide upholstery and crevice attachments for the extended reach tool are included.

Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 made our list of the best earbuds, and I use mine every day while listening to music on runs, taking calls and blocking out noisy city streets. They’re comfortable and secure in my ears even when I get sweaty — they come with five interchangeable ear tips so you can find the right fit. The AirPods have three listening modes, including active noise cancellation, hours of battery life with the included charging case and advanced features like heart rate sensing during workouts, hearing aid mode and live language translation.

Exfoliating with Medicube’s Zero Pore Pads every other night has transformed my skin in the past year. The pads are soaked in a serum made with AHAs and BHAs, ingredients that have made my skin noticeably softer, smoother and clearer. There’s two sides to the pads: you use the textured one first to remove dead skin cells, then the soft one to soothe. The pads come with a tweezer, preventing you from touching those inside the container with dirty hands.

If you’re not a fan of thread floss or floss pickers, using a water flosser is another way to get rid of plaque. This one is a NBC Selected Wellness Award winner with three pressure settings and a rechargeable battery that lasts up to four weeks, according to the brand. It comes with four interchangeable tips that rotate 360 degrees, letting you reach all parts of your mouth, and the built-in reservoir on its handle holds enough water for a 45-second clean.

We named the Paperwhite Amazon’s best Kindle because of its extra-long battery life that lasts up to 12 weeks. It also has a front light that automatically adjusts depending on your environment, helping you see the glare-free screen clearly. The Kindle Paperwhite is water-resistant, and you can charge it via the USB-C port or wirelessly with a charging dock that’s sold separately.

Take LifeStraw’s Personal Water Filter on hikes and camping trips, or put it in your emergency kit. You use it like a straw, and its built-in filter removes over 99 percent of bacteria, parasites and microplastics from water, according to the brand. You can use it to filter up to 1,000 gallons of water before needing a new one.

Lowest price ever

Keep beverages cold and ice frozen all day with this dishwasher-safe water bottle, which has a handle, a straw lid and a stainless steel, double-wall vacuum insulated design. It’s also cupholder-compatible.

Wavytalk’s red light therapy mask uses different light modes to target fine lines, acne and skin tone, with enhanced light delivery in the T- and U-zones to address those common problem areas, according to the brand. It fully covers your face to prevent itchiness or missed spots, and it’s made from a soft silicone material with adjustable head straps. You can choose from 10-, 15- or 20-minute sessions.

I’m impressed by how much stuff I can fit inside Bagsmart’s toiletry bag every time I use it. It folds out into four compartments — some of them have elastic straps to hold bottles upright and others have zipper closures. The compartments are clear so you can always see what’s inside, and the bag has a built-in hook to hang it up. There’s also an exterior pocket that has spots to put makeup brushes, and you get an additional clear pouch with your purchase.

I have an Echo Dot in each room of my apartment. I use them as Bluetooth speakers to play music, and they have the Alexa voice assistant built-in. I constantly use voice commands to control my smart home devices like light bulbs and smart plugs, and I ask Alexa to set timers, alarms and reminders for me, as well as tell me the weather. The device is small, so it’s very easy to hide in my space, and since it pairs with the app, I can adjust its settings even when I’m not home.

October Prime Day deals on household essentials and groceries

These trash bags are multi-layered and slightly stretchy to prevent leaks and rips while you fill them to the brim, and they have a drawstring closure to keep everything inside once full. They’re also made with baking soda and added fragrance to neutralize odors. You get 80 13-gallon bags in this pack.

I always buy batteries when they’re on sale so I never run out at home. This pack comes with 24 AAs and 24 AAAs, and they last for up to 10 years in storage, according to the brand.

These Tide Pods don’t just clean clothes. The detergent inside each one also fights odors, pre-treats and removes stains, protects colors and boosts scents, according to the brand. I use them for all my laundry, including sweaty workout clothes and my pets’ beds, and I’ve never had an issue with them not dissolving, even in cold water. You get 63 Tide Pods in this pack, which come in a resealable container.

The dual-sided Scrub Mommy is the only sponge I buy. Its scrubber side is soft in warm water yet firm in cold water to get rid of stuck-on grime, while its sponge side is always soft and highly absorbent to create suds. The circular sponges are easy to hold, and the smiley face in the center is purposeful: You can put your fingers in the eyes for a secure grip and put utensils through the mouth to wipe them down. The Scrub Mommy is odor-resistant, scratch-free and dishwasher-safe.

October Prime Day beauty and wellness deals

This moisturizer is formulated with ingredients like collagen peptides, niacinamide and vitamin B5 to strengthen the skin barrier, add hydration and improve the appearance of wrinkles so your skin is smoother and firmer over time, according to the brand. You can use it in the morning and at night, plus it’s fragrance-free.

Colgate’s toothpaste is made with 5 percent hydrogen peroxide, a bleaching ingredient that helps remove stains from teeth and make your smile less yellow. There’s also cavity-fighting fluoride in its formula. The minty whitening toothpaste is safe for daily use and doesn’t cause tooth sensitivity, according to the brand.

When you leave this sheet mask on for three to four hours, or overnight, it turns transparent as your skin absorbs the serum it’s soaked in. It’s made with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to hydrate, refine enlarged pores, improve skin elasticity, brighten tone and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, according to the brand. You get four masks in this pack, and they’re each individually wrapped.

Out of all the teeth whitening strips I’ve tested, Crest’s are the most effective and easiest to apply, plus they’re comfortable and stay in place — they’re so thin that I can have full conversations while wearing them. Each strip is coated in hydrogen peroxide, a bleaching ingredient that removes stains and brightens your smile, according to the brand. You get enough strips for 22 45-minute treatments with this pack.

Laneige’s lip balm gives my lips a sheer tint and a glossy finish while moisturizing them with ingredients like shea and murumuru seed butters. It keeps my lips softer throughout the day and feels lightweight. I wear it on its own, and I often layer it over matte lipstick.

Amika’s dry shampoo came highly recommended to us by numerous hair stylists. They say the rice starch in its formula effectively absorbs moisture from the scalp and reduces odors to extend time between washes, while sea buckthorn berry nourishes the hair. It also blends into hair easily, is lightweight and adds volume and body.

The internet-famous Shark DePuffi is currently on sale for the first time ever, so don’t wait any longer to get your hands on it. The skin care device has six customizable temperatures that go from cold to hot, and it’s made with a gua sha-inspired edge — as you massage it along your face and neck to encourage lymphatic flow, it depuffs, sculpts and temporarily relieves muscle tension, according to the brand. You get a travel case and charger with your purchase.

Philips Sonicare’s 5950 Electric Toothbrush has all the features dentists told us to look for while shopping: a pressure sensor, a timer, a brush head replacement reminder and adjustable brushing settings. Its battery lasts for about 21 days before you need to recharge it, and it comes with a travel case and charging stand.

NBC Selected commerce editor Mili Godio swears by these Loop’s ear plugs for blocking out street sounds and snoring while sleeping at home, as well as general disruptions while resting in transit. They’re made from a soft silicone material and come with ear tips in four sizes to help you find your perfect fit. The ear plugs are washable and reusable up to five years, according to the brand. Plus, they come with a storage case for safe keeping.

Using this color-safe clarifying shampoo once a week essentially “resets” your hair and scalp by giving both a deep clean, according to the brand. It’s made with ingredients like activated charcoal and salicylic acid, which get rid of built-up dirt, oils, hard water minerals and products without stripping your scalp of moisture.

Let this be your reminder that wearing sunscreen daily is not optional, even as the weather gets colder. Restock your supply with this NBC Selected editor-approved option from EltaMD. It’s lightweight and blends easily into my skin, and since it dries quickly, I can layer makeup on top with no pilling. The SPF also hydrates my skin with hyaluronic acid. It’s fragrance-free and noncomedogenic, and best for dry, combination and normal skin types, according to the brand.

I never leave home without Touchland’s hand sanitizer, especially during cold and flu season. I find the sprayable formula more convenient compared to other options, and it never makes my hands feel greasy or grimy. There’s also hydrating ingredients like aloe vera in the formula to help reduce dryness. You get three little bottles in this scent, each in a different scent.

October Prime Day home deals

Prepare for the cozy season ahead by adding Ugg’s faux fur blanket to your couch or bed. It’s double-sided, so it feels soft against your skin no matter how you use it, and it’s roomy enough for two people to share. While Ugg recommends dry cleaning the blanket, you can also machine wash it on cold, according to the brand.

The Casper Sleep Original Pillow is a NBC Selected staff-favorite product, and many of us rest our heads on it every night. It’s stuffed with a down alternative material, has a breathable cotton cover and gets its medium-soft feel from a two-layer design: the inner layer is firmer to offer support, while outer layer is plush for extra comfort. The pillow is machine-washable and clump-resistant.

Hoto’s rechargeable electric screwdriver helps you build and fix stuff at home (or on the go) much faster than a standard tool. It comes with 25 interchangeable bits, and it has three adjustable torque settings and a built-in LED light to provide clear visibility. The screwdriver comes with a case to keep all the pieces organized.

I’ve never met a kid who doesn’t love Magna-Tiles, and if I’m being honest, I enjoy using them, too. This set comes with 70 magnetic blocks in a rainbow of colors and different shapes like rectangles, triangles and squares. In addition to letting kids be creative while building, the brand says the blocks help with hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

The Dyson V8 is cordless, lightweight and works on all floor types, making it easy to carry between rooms, as well take up and down stairs — plus, you get 40 minutes of battery life on a single charge. The vacuum’s cleaner head detangles as it suctions up debris to prevent clogs, and it has a built-in filtration system. The V8 Plus also converts into a handheld model to clean small messes, furniture and car interiors. It comes with a crevice tool, a charger and an optional wall dock.

As the weather gets colder, you may also notice that your home’s air feels dry, which can negatively impact your skin, worsen allergies and even cause nosebleeds, according to experts we talked to. A humidifier helps solve those problems by adding moisture back into the air, and this one does so without you ever seeing the mist it produces. It has a 1-gallon water tank that gives you up to 48 hours of continuous use, and you can pair it with the brand’s app to adjust settings and set schedules. It’s quiet to prevent disrupted sleep, and it has a built-in aroma stone you can add essential oils to.

October Prime Day kitchen deals

These were one of my best purchases during last year’s Prime Big Deal Days. Their ribbed silicone exterior helps me grip hot pots and pans, and they’re heat-resistant up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the brand. The material is also water-resistant, so I don’t worry about spills or splashes. The inside of the mitts are lined with cotton, making them soft against my skin.

You can make your own fresh popcorn at home with this kitchen gadget. Use the built-in measuring cup on the lid to portion out kernels, pour them into the popper and microwave it for about three minutes. You can also put butter on the lid, which has holes that let it melt onto the popcorn. Plus, once your snack is done cooking, you can use the popper as a serving bowl.

I traded disposable plastic bags for Stasher’s reusable silicone bags years ago. I use them every day to pack my lunch and store ingredients at home. The bags have air-tight, leak-free seals, and they’re freezer-, microwave-, dishwasher- and oven-safe up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, according Stasher. You can also use them for sous-vide cooking, as well as write on them with dry-erase markers for easy labeling. This pack comes with four bags in different sizes: snack, sandwich, stand-up mid and 2-cup bowl.

This single-serve coffee maker brews an 8-, 10- or 12-ounce cup in less than a minute. It has a strong brew setting if you like your coffee extra flavorful, and it’s designed with a 42-ounce removable water reservoir that’s easy to refill. The machine is compact, making it ideal for small spaces, and you can remove the drip tray to fit tall travel mugs.

These nonstick pans make sure food like eggs, grilled cheese, fish and veggies don’t get stuck to the surface while they’re cooking. The set comes with three pans in different sizes, all with matching lids. They’re made from scratch-resistant aluminum with a stainless steel, warp-resistant base that evenly distributes heat. The pans are oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and dishwasher-safe.

I’m accident-prone, so Kitchen Mama’s battery-operated electric can opener is as much of a safety measure as it is a convenience when I’m cooking. You put it on top of a can, press the button to start, watch it spin around the lid and press the button again to stop it. Then, you remove the can’s lid, and you’re left with smooth edges to protect your fingers.

You can monitor visitors and deliveries at all times with Blink’s video doorbell. There’s also a Blink subscription available for an additional fee, which gives you access to features like in-app person detection and motion-activated notifications.

Turn any TV into a smart TV with Amazon’s Fire Stick, which you simply plug into an HDMI port to use. It lets you stream entertainment from your favorite platforms and watch live TV in HD. The Fire Stick comes with a remote that lets you control the TV via buttons or voice commands. It’s also compact so it won’t block other ports.

Attach this device to your keys, slip it inside a pocket or put it on a carabiner clip to find where your items are. The tracker connects to the Life360 app, letting you see its location, ring it and share information with loved ones. You can also press the tracker’s built-in button to ring your phone or send an SOS alert. The brand says its battery lasts up to three years.

If you’re in an emergency, you pull up the top ring on the She’s Birdie safety keychain to activate its loud alarm and strobe light to attract help. To stop the alarm, just push the ring back in. The device also has a built-in flashlight and is rechargeable— it even has a charge-light indicator to remind you to recharge it. Avoid tangling your cables by organizing them in this waterproof travel case. It’s divided into three sections, with enough room for multiple cords, a power bank, your phone, earbuds and more in its internal pockets. It also has a carrying loop.

Once you plug this gadget into the headphone jack on plane seats, gym equipment or video game consoles, it uses Bluetooth to transmit audio to your wireless headphones. You get up to 20 hours on a single charger, and there’s controls on it to adjust the volume.

The best deals on October Prime Day usually center around Amazon-owned technology like Echo, Fire, Blink and Ring devices, small home and kitchen appliances, beauty products, household basics and groceries. Additionally, because this sale is in the fall, it unofficially kicks off the holiday shopping season, so brands discount popular gifts like gift cards and toys, as well as Advent calendars and themed decor. What things are cheaper on October Prime Day? Products across all categories are generally cheaper on October Prime Day, with many brands discounting products by over 20 percent. Prices on tech, household essentials and groceries, small home and kitchen appliances, beauty products, giftable items and holiday decor tend to drop the most overall. The sale offers some of the lowest prices of the year on products across categories, giving you a chance to start shopping for holiday gifts, upgrade outdated or broken items and restock your favorite basics, like skin care, cleaning supplies and groceries. But ultimately, deals are only worth it if you actually need something, so plan your spending to prevent making impulse purchases.
